I’m so glad you stopped by for a visit. I have the best job in the world—writing children’s books. I think you’ll find my enthusiasm is evident and hopefully contagious as you explore my website. There’s lots packed into this site, so take your time and come back often (when you’ll find new things added).

Something on the site I’m really excited about and hope you enjoy are my VIDEO READ-ALOUDS. Share them as a family. Share them as a class—projecting them onto a large screen in front of the class. My readings are interactive and fun. You’ll learn exactly how best to read my books after seeing the videos—and maybe even get ideas on how to read other books aloud.

Having worked in public schools for twenty-one years, I have a soft spot for teachers and am always looking for the educational angle of books. Books should be fun, but how can we learn from them too? And so, you’ll find LEARNING ACTIVITIES for each of my books, plus a BLOG FOR TEACHERS, called “Make Writing Visible.” The blog has a video component too, sort of a chat about ways to teach writing from an author’s perspective.
